As has been the trend for many years now, the race is substantially over-subscribed, particularly for junior entries.
We are sharing the following information so clubs and crews can manage their expectations, and also to remind Entries Admins to check that their entries are complete before we suspend at noon this Thursday, 31 October. 2024
Entry numbers
- As set out on our Entries page we can safely accommodate 450 in total, made up of 150 school/juniors and 300 seniors. We aim to have parity between Open and Women’s entries, so that’s 75 of each in school/junior, and 150 of each in senior.
- We have now received 623 entries (15 more than last year), of which 254 are school/junior (141 Open, which is 88% over subscribed, and 113 Women, which is 51% oversubscribed), and 369 are senior (201 Open, which is 34% oversubscribed, and 168 Women, which is 12% oversubscribed).
UPDATE 9.30pm on 28 October: we now have 659 entries, of which 257 are school/junior and 402 are senior.
UPDATE 9.30pm on 29 October: we now have 673 entries, of which 260 are school/junior and 413 are senior. Open school/junior (142) is 89% oversubscribed, Women’s school/junior (118) is 57% over, Open senior (223) is 49% over and Women’s senior (190) is 27% over. - 148 clubs have entered crews (160 by 29 October).
Please note that at this stage we cannot give you an indicator of what the minimum CRI is likely to be for each of the four overall entry types as entries are still coming in/being changed.
Next steps for club Entries Admins
Make sure you check that your entries:
- Have been paid for (151 crews entered have currently not been paid for).
- Do not contain placeholders (21 crews currently contain placeholders).
- Are complete (which means answering the question in BROE about your preferred boating location).
Any entries that do not meet all of the above will not be considered for acceptance once we suspend for new entries on Thursday.
Finally, if you are planning on sharing a trailer with another club, please reply to this email to let me know the names of both/all clubs involved.
Our next steps
The process we will use to identify the entries for acceptance after we have suspended for new entries on Thursday is set out on our Entries page. We aim to start accepting entries on Sunday, 3 November 2024 and I will email you again once that has been done and the waiting lists have been published so that you can see how close any of your crews not accepted are to getting in if there are withdrawals. The official close of entries is noon on Friday, 8 November 2024.
We are sorry that so many crews won’t be able to race and are grateful for your understanding that this is because trailer parking, boating, and marshalling will all be at maximum capacity with 450 crews.
