According to the plan set out on our Entries page, entries were suspended at noon on Thursday, 31 October 2024, having opened 10 days earlier.
695 entries were received, meaning that the race is oversubscribed by 54% overall above the limit of 450 crews that can safely be accommodated on both land and water. This limit is made up of 150 school/juniors and 300 seniors, with approximately half of each allocated to Open and Women’s crews. The totals for each group are:
Open school/junior: 146 (95% oversubscribed)
Women’s school/junior: 119 (59% oversubscribed)
Open senior: 230 (53% oversubscribed)
Women’s senior: 200 (33% oversubscribed)
We are delighted that so many clubs and crews want to race at the Fours Head but regret that quite so many will be unable to race.
Following the procedure set out on our Entries page, we aim to start accepting entries on Sunday, when we will also publish the waiting lists.
Clubs can make withdrawals at any time between now and the official close of entries at noon on Friday, 8 November 2024. Entry fees will be fully refunded for crews that are withdrawn before the close of entries or that we do not accept. Entry fees will not be refunded for crews scratched after the close of entries.
