The Fours Head Committee is pleased to announce a refund of £70 per crew from the entry fee of £80 paid.
When deciding the level of refund, the Committee sought to strike a balance between being fair to competitors and our fiduciary responsibility to the competition. Despite canceling more then 48 hours before the race was due to start, some of our supplier costs were unrecoverable. We are extremely grateful to those suppliers who kindly waived or reduced the charges for their goods or services.
Clubs should be aware that it is unlikely that the same level of refund will be possible if there are further cancellations in the next few years. Those entering the Fours Head may have noted (Further Notes item 3 on the Entries page) that “Entry fees will not be refunded… if the event is cancelled”. This remains the default position to which we may need to revert in future years.
Refunds will be processed via BROE2 this evening (Sunday, 24 November 2024), and will be credited to the card on which they were paid.
The Committee would like to thank everyone involved – competitors, coaches, host clubs, and other volunteers – for the huge amount of hard work they had put in to preparing for this year’s race.
We hope to see you next year on Saturday, 15 November 2025 (yes, back to Saturday again).
