Visiting crews at Duke’s Meadows

This page is for anyone involved with crews at the following host clubs:

  • Tideway Scullers
  • Emanuel School
  • Civil Service (Cygnet/Barnes Bridge Ladies).

All visiting crews should be aware that the local council (Hounslow) are considering introducing parking restrictions at Duke’s Meadows.

They are therefore paying much greater attention to the area on race days and are highly likely to have a presence at Duke’s Meadows during the Fours Head that will be monitoring traffic, boat movements and parking. Accordingly PLEASE ensure that you park in accordance with the instructions from your host club. Hounslow are particularly concerned about boats and trailers blocking the road, including when moving boats across the road. Thank you.

Boating at Tideway Scullers (TSS)

As there are no marked bays at the moment, trailers can park anywhere on the hard standing. They also don’t need to pay if unhitched – it’s only vehicles that are subject to the charge.

All parking is first come, first served, so it is recommended that trailers arrive as early as possible, or the night before.

Boating at Emanuel/Civil Service

Please  park trailer as close to a tree as possible to allow as many trailers as possible.

Your towing vehicle must not be parked between bandstand and boathouse, as these spaces needed for trailers only.

You can park for free on the other side of Barnes Bridge. Google map Barnes Bridge Station. Or you can park in Duke’s Meadows on the far side of bandstand from the boathouse.

2025: Be aware that council works are being carried out on Riverside Drive (the access road to Duke’s Meadows). This means that 1 lane is closed in places and tehre are temporary contraflow traffic lights. Please leave extra time to negotiate these.

Sustainable travel

Competitors not travelling in towing vehicles are encouraged, where possible to use public transport (details available here), and failing that to share lifts.
