We are delighted to announce that York City Rowing Club are the winners of the 2019 Davison Award.
This discretionary award was created in 2018 in memory of Noel Davison, who was Honorary Secretary of the race from 2014-2018, for the standout performance from a small club.
Like last year, many clubs were in contention for this prize based on a combination of the size of their entry, diversity of their entry as well as overall performance. After much consideration and discussion with the Committee, Richard Phelps, Chairman of the Head of the River Fours, selected York City for this year’s award. The club have long been regular participants in the race, entering open and women’s crews in both junior and senior categories.
The Committee looks forward to welcoming representatives of York City RC to the prizegiving to receive their Davison Blade from members of Noel’s family.
